“I don’t understand politics. I don’t understand the concept of two sides. I think there is probably good and bad on both sides and there is a middle ground but it never seems to come to the middle ground and it’s very frustrating. Watching it some simple change, simple-simple relatively speaking and we are going forward. It could be to a beautiful place. There are many obstacles and there are many opposing and we are not moving forward.” This was the reply David Lynch one of the most creative film producers of the 21st century gave to Mark Cousins in his 1999 interview on BBC’s Scene by Scene when asked if he was cynical of political relationships especially with how things worked in Hollywood. This is a statement that many people would agree with.
Why is it that a middle ground is almost impossible to reach in political matters? We would think that the most brilliant minds, people with excellent problem solving skills, good conscience, who are morally stable, credible people, with good conviction, wisdom and discernment are those who are tasked with holding government offices and leading a nation. Substantial power cannot be bestowed upon the reckless or ill-prepared and that is the reason why companies seeking to hire individuals for certain leadership position have certain criteria’s that one must meet in order to qualify for those roles. These requirements include educational background linked to the field they seek to entire, no criminal record and previous experience. Dozens of organizations have probation periods even after all these requirements have been met. With that been said every modern nation should be equipped with a government comprising of the human resources to function in an orderly and progressive manner however this is hardly the case. One might argue that there are many laws and problems associated with leading a country, yes there are and that is why it’s imperative to have the best people with extensive experience holding these offices.
Through-out history many dominant and powerful nations have self-destructed because of poor leadership. These catastrophes are recorded in dozens of history books scattered all around the globe. Many documentations of the suffering of whole populations which resulted from leaders pushing their personal agendas and neglected the people's cry for help are discussed in hundreds of classrooms worldwide. Each year dozens of students write their theist on Revolution Wars. The truth is oppression leads to resistance and resistance leads to revolution wars if changes aren’t made and we all know how revolutions end.
